Laboratory Research Interests
The laboratory focuses on the frontiers of international disciplines,
facing the significant demands of the country,
taking the cross innovation of information science, life science,
and medical science as the starting point,
carrying out systematic research in the area of Big Data,
Artificial Intelligence, Bioinformatics, Neuromorphic Computing, Synthetic Biology,
etc.,
aiming at solving the technical bottleneck of big data application in life science
and medical science,
developing core technology architecture and large software systems that serve
bioinformatics and intelligent medicine,
providing the theoretical foundation and technical support for life sciences and
major disease prevention and treatment.
Research Funding
In recent years, the Center for Bioinformatics and Intelligent Medicine
has undertaken the National Key Research and Development Project of China (3 times),
the National Natural Science Foundation of China (6 times),
provincial and ministerial level major projects (3 times),
and other vertical academic research projects (10+ times),
with total research funding of more than 15,000,000 RMB in three years.
Academic achievements
The laboratory has published more than 60 high-level papers in top journals
such as Nature Communications, PNAS, Nucleic Acids Research, Bioinformatics,
IEEE/ACM Transactions on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics,
IEEE Transactions on Knowledge and Data Engineering,
and IEEE Transactions on Fuzzy Systems,
applied for more than 20 invention patents,
and won one provincial Science and Technology Progress Award.
International Exchange and Cooperation
Professor Jian Liu, Director of the Center for Bioinformatics and Intelligent
Medicine,
was invited as a representative of young Chinese scientists
to share his research results related to microbial big data processing and
intelligent analysis at the BRICS COVID-19 Symposium.
The laboratory has trained many M.S. and Ph.D. students and international students.
We have good cooperation with global famous universities and research institutes
such as Harvard University, Cambridge University, Tsinghua University,
Peking University, etc., and high-tech companies such as Tencent, Alibaba, Huawei,
Baidu, etc.
